Ophthalmology Clinic Nurse

The Ophthalmology Clinic Nurse delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.  She/he assists in patient teaching and is a link between the medical provider and patients.  The Ophthalmology Clinic Nurse responds to a high volume of phone calls each day, in addition to meeting the needs of the patients with scheduled appointments. The Ophthalmology Clinic Nurse may be orientated to work in the NorthWest Surgery (General Surgery) Specialty Clinic or Pain Management Clinic.

Number of Hours: Casual: 8-10 hours/week.   

Schedule: Thursdays Weekly 8am-4:45pm. Flexibility to shift trade to fill-in for vacations, illness, and other absences. Primary Ophthalmology Nurse works weekly on Monday and Friday from 9am-11am triaging incoming calls, scheduling follow up, and working prior authorizations.

Educational Requirements:  LPN or RN licensure.

Other:   The applicant must work well with patients, physicians, visiting physicians and staff in the utmost professional and confidential manner. Flexibility in job duties is a must. He/she must be a good communicator, good team player and be willing to participate in general nursing issues like immunization updates, infection control, etc.
